British Motorcross Championships LANDRAKE Cornwall

So this sunday i went to the 8th and final round of the British Motorcross Championships,
MX1 MX2 and MXY2 and ACU Dirt Bike Bitch UK Ladies Motocross
and what a day it was!!! heres the results.

Sword wins overall in first MX1 outing
The newly crowned ACU Maxxis British MX2 Champion, Stephen Sword picked up the overall win at the final round of the Championship at Landrake in Cornwall.

He was joined on the podium by Billy MacKenzie who was second overall and Jason Dougan who took third.

Race one saw Billy MacKenzie on the CAS Honda show everyone who was boss by beating Shaun Simpson on the Red Bull KTM over the line by 6.057secs.

He didn’t get the best of starts but came through from third place to take the lead on lap eight. Simpson who has just stepped up to MX1 this weekend got the hole shot and lead for the first eight laps. His MX1 debut was certainly spectacular and his team-mate Sword, raced to an equally impressive third place. Ryan ‘Ryno’ Hughes managed a top ten finish bagging ninth place.

In the second race of the day it was Bryan MacKenzie who shot into the lead. His cousin Billy got tangled up with Simpson and they both took a tumble. Both managed to re-start but Simpson fell again later in the race and could only manage a tenth place finish.

A slip up from Bryan MacKenzie allowed Sword hit the front just three laps in and he was never challenged. Jason Dougan on the Phoenix CCM slipped in to second place but was pushed back down the order by James Noble on the STR Honda. Dougan was relegated another position when the hard riding Billy MacKenzie took third form him. The race result was Sword from Noble and MacKenzie third

Womens

Kane crowned Champion

Natalie Kane on the MVR-D Suzuki has taken the ACU Dirt Bike Bitch UK Ladies Motocross Championship at Landrake in Cornwall.

She has won every race she has competed in and Landrake was no exception. She pulled an impressive 26.689secs lead over Kerry Wilson to take the title one race early.

Wilson raced to second place in race one to finish ahead of Alix Dunlop in third place. Dunlop and Fisher were battling it out for the remaining places in the Championship and Dunlop’s third place assisted her challenge.

The second race of the day saw Kane dominate once again winning by 5.299secs. Wilson rode to second place again but third went to Stacey Fisher this time round.

Kane took the overall title with Wilson second and Fisher third.
